Thank you to everyone who came to the screening on August 1st.
The venue we were able to rent was filled with light, and it made us feel like we could all feel the ocean!
Reina from Yakushima said she went into the ocean this morning, and the sea breeze was blowing through her body. It was so natural, even though we were just watching through an online screen. When we synchronized our breathing, it felt like we were listening to her talk at the beach.
She was once a girl who had difficulty living in the human world.
The main character of the film, Reina, finds herself in the deep and gentle world of the ocean on the Big Island of Hawaii, eventually becoming a mother, and on this day, she and we who live in the human world
Now he shared this experience with me.

The end of last summer
It was our first time snorkeling.
He took me out to the powerful sea where a typhoon was approaching.
I was thinking about Reina.
Reina deeply trusts Umi, and Umi also trusts Reina.
I felt like I could trust him so much that I thought it was okay and I'd go along with him.
Reina's Lei is a huge Lei woven with whales and dolphins that is big enough to encompass the Earth!

I felt my heart expand.
After feeling the expansion of that heart, I was able to watch the movie.
It really took me deep into the world of the film.
Reina's words, voice, and way of speaking have a high vibrational quality.

感動して言葉があまりでてこなかった。
ぼくのあらゆる感覚でうけとったものは
深くて広くて愛おしい世界。
言葉にしてしまうと
ぬけおちてしまうピースが
あまりにも多すぎて
言葉に出したくなかったような感じ。
レイナと
イルカやクジラたちとの
親密なコンタクトが
本当に美しい映像で表現されていて
まるで 自分も
海のようにいるような
感覚になった。
映像にときおり挟みこまれる
モノクロの写真が
海の青さとの対比で
心に鮮明に刻まれている。
『Mother ocean』を見て
ぼくが感動した理由を言葉にするなら
『生命のつながりを深く感じたから』
というところだと思う。
中盤・後半あたりに
レイナの出産がテーマになり
おなかに新たな生命を宿しながら
クジラやイルカたちと交流する姿。
そして、レイナが
家族に見守られながら
新たな生命をこの世界に迎えいれる姿。
それをみたとき
ぼくたちの娘・息子の出産の風景。
そして、自分が生まれたときの風景。
そういうところにリコネクトしながら
生命のつながりを深く感じた。
この映画をとどけてくれて
本当にありがとう。
そして、これからも
この生命のつながりを
ともに育んでいけたらうれしい！
